
Shanghai News — As the crisp autumn air brings a refreshing breeze, the banks of the Huangpu River once again host an international gathering. On the afternoon of 18 October, the China-Indonesia Strategic Synergy Development Summit was grandly convened in Shanghai. This summit aimed to deepen strategic alignment and industrial collaboration between China and Indonesia. The event brought together over a hundred participants, including high-level government officials, business leaders, industry experts, and young entrepreneurs from both nations. They gathered to foster friendship, discuss cooperation, and chart development pathways, yielding fruitful outcomes.
At 1:00 pm, the summit formally commenced. The host extended a warm welcome on behalf of the organisers to the Indonesian government and business delegation, as well as all Chinese guests in attendance. It was emphasised that, standing at the historic new starting point of the 75th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic relations, this summit would be dedicated to jointly charting a new blueprint for cooperation and opening a new chapter in development.

A gathering of distinguished figures, joining forces for a grand occasion
The distinguished guest list underscores the high priority both parties attach to deepening cooperation:
Key Chinese representatives included Mr Zhang Jie, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce; Mr Guo Wenming, Vice Chairman of the China Environmental Protection Federation; Mr Zheng Like, Chairman of Akan Enterprise Group alongside over a hundred entrepreneurs, academics and institutional representatives from relevant sectors.

As summit host, Mr Zheng Like, Chairman of Akan Enterprise Group, first extended a warm welcome to attendees. He shared Akan's practical experience in cultivating the Indonesian market and outlined the threefold mission of the forthcoming China-Indonesia Young Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce. He further projected that this dynamic platform would undoubtedly pool the wisdom of both nations to jointly pioneer new opportunities for the future.

Mr Parulian Silalahi, Minister at the Indonesian Embassy in China, subsequently outlined the Indonesian government's diplomatic support policies for young entrepreneurs. He projected significant bilateral investment opportunities, emphasising the critical importance of government guidance for business development.

Mr Zhang Jie, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, stated in his address that on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, bilateral trade volume has surpassed US$150 billion. Shanghai will continue to optimise its business environment, support deepened cooperation between the two nations in key areas such as green transition and the digital economy, and jointly advance strategic coordination to new heights.

Mr Guo Wenming, Vice-Chairman of the China Environmental Protection Federation, shifted the focus towards a green future, systematically outlining the complementary strengths and cooperative potential between China and Indonesia within the environmental protection industry. His insights provided a professional perspective for advancing green and low-carbon collaboration.

In his closing address, Mr Tirta Nugraha Mursitama, Deputy Minister of Investment of Indonesia, articulated on behalf of Indonesia's investment authorities the government's strong commitment and strategic plans to deepen trade and industrial cooperation with China, while clearly defining priority areas for collaboration.

HIPMI China Chapter Established: Youth Power Takes Root in China
The summit witnessed its inaugural milestone – the inauguration ceremony of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) China Chapter.
Under the announcement and witness of HIPMI Secretary-General Dr Anggawira, the chapter's core leadership formally presented themselves and received their insignia. They comprise: Chairman Bagas Deka Kurtianto, Treasurer Ocha Stephanie, Vice-Chairman Dioz Brilliando, and Minister Abdi Wahyu.

Mr Zheng Like, Chairman of Akan Enterprise Group; Mr Guo Wenming, Vice Chairman of the China Environmental Protection Federation; and Mr Hu Zheng, Vice Chairman of the Huzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce, took to the stage as Chinese witnesses to jointly witness this historic moment.

Subsequently, Mr Bagas Deka Kurtianto, the newly appointed Chairman of HIPMI China Chapter, delivered his inaugural address, passionately outlining the chapter's future work plans and vision.


Two-Way Partnership Blossoms: Indonesian Chamber of Commerce for Young Chinese Entrepreneurs Officially Established
Cooperation is a mutual endeavour. Shortly thereafter, the summit witnessed the birth of another significant institution—the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce for Young Chinese Entrepreneurs. In the anticipation of the attending guests, Chairman Zheng Like, host of the summit, took to the stage to solemnly announce the chamber's formal establishment. This marks a new beginning for China's younger generation of entrepreneurs collectively advancing into the Indonesian market.


Significant Agreements Signed, Multi-Sector Collaboration in Full Bloom
The establishment of the chamber has provided the framework, while substantive agreements have given it substance. During the subsequent strategic cooperation signing ceremony, four major agreements were signed in succession. The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Low-Altitude Economy Industry Research Centre of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Group (Chinese representative: Mr Wang Cheng) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Longma College of the Central University of Finance and Economics (Chinese representative: Ms Yang Lei) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Shanghai High Net Worth Research Institute (Chinese representative: Ms Yang Qiumei ) have signed a cooperation agreement.
These agreements mark the comprehensive commencement of collaboration between China and Indonesia across multiple professional domains, including industrial enterprises, low-altitude economy, financial education, and high-net-worth research. They represent a pivotal milestone in jointly shaping the future and mutually empowering one another.
Meeting of Minds: A Roundtable on Industry Frontiers.
Following the tea break networking session, the summit proceeded to the roundtable forum segment for in-depth intellectual exchange.
The first forum, themed ‘Co-Creating a Sustainable Future: A New Chapter for Green Industries in China and India’, was chaired by Mr Bagas Deka Kurtianto (Beda). Panelists included: Mr Chaidir Syam, Mayor of Maros City, South Sulawesi Province; Mr Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Aviation Association (IAA); Mr Wang Cheng, Chairman of Dashanghui Industrial Group and Director of the Low-Altitude Economy Research Centre at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Group; and Mr Zheng Like, Chairman of Akan Enterprise Group. The guests engaged in a lively discussion on topics including renewable energy, eco-industrial parks, and low-carbon supply chains, sharing valuable insights.

The second forum, centred on ‘Driving the Future: Innovative Synergies in China-Indonesia Energy Transition and Low-Altitude Economy’, was again chaired by Mr Bedka. The distinguished panel comprised: Mr Sona Maesana, Director General of the Downstream Industry Acceleration Directorate at Indonesia's Ministry of Investment; Dr Anggawira, Secretary General of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association; Mr Li Lingfeng, Chairman of Shanghai Shengbo Huakang Consulting Management Co., Ltd.; and Ms Yuan Xiuli, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary General of the Agricultural Ecological Environmental Protection and Rural Revitalisation Committee at the China Environmental Protection Federation. The forum delved into investment opportunities and innovative collaboration pathways within low-altitude industries such as clean energy, electric mobility, drones, and smart logistics.

The summit concluded successfully upon completion of its full agenda. Through a series of substantive measures including institutional frameworks, agreement signings and in-depth dialogue, this meeting has tangibly propelled bilateral cooperation between China and Indonesia towards higher levels, broader domains and greater depth, injecting fresh impetus into the future development of bilateral relations.
