EPP ducts use quick-connect fittings, and the material's inherent elasticity allows for a tight seal. During installation, it is recommended to first perform a dry-fit to ensure accurate dimensions, guaranteeing a secure connection and good airtightness. Compared to the higher leakage rates associated with snap-lock connections in sheet metal ducts, the EPP system has extremely low air leakage, a high effective air delivery rate, and meets the requirements of passive house standards.

4. How to select the appropriate main duct diameter?

Select the duct type based on the fresh air unit's airflow capacity: taking a unit with a 350 m³/h airflow as an example, an DN160 main duct is recommended. If a DN110 PE flexible corrugated round duct is chosen, the air velocity inside the duct reaches 13 m/s, far exceeding the standard requirements. This leads to excessive frictional resistance (approximately 40 Pa/m), significant vibration, and high system noise levels.
